Alberta Life CE Courses
We are a proud Alberta-based company with a large base of Life insurance professionals as our customers. Our courses are sold as bundles with a membership. Alberta Life and A&S agents typically require 15 credits/year. The vast majority of our courses below are approved for both Life and A&S, which means often you can take one course and receive two credits, one for Life and one for Accident & Sickness. Note there are a couple of exceptions to this, so please read the individual course descriptions for more information - we have a couple of courses approved for Life only but not A&S. Please review our course descriptions and you can also visit the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) website to view our accreditation status.
Once you become a member you'll have instant access and can start taking courses right away. When you have completed the course, you will take a short test and then receive your certificate [sample], which you should print out and keep for your records. Then you simply visit the AIC website, log into your account and enter the approved AIC course# (shown in the description of each of our courses) as proof that you've completed the course. It's really that easy.
Tort: Understanding Tort Law (Life, A&S version)
In “Understanding Tort Law”, you will cover basic legal concepts and the connection between Common Law and Tort Law. You will also learn about the seven types of Intentional Torts, Criminal Torts versus Intentional Torts as well look at several court studies showing the evolution of this legal concept in Insurance.
This technical course is approved in all provinces for all types of licences. Approved in Alberta for all license types (course#6286 for General and P&C, and course#16896 for Life and A&S agents).
